Future Course Offerings
In the next year, the Adult Education Program will be expanding to offer:
In addition to expanding course offerings, the program will also expand locations. Currently classes are being held at the County Office of Education on Green Valley Road, The California Conservation Corps site in Greenwood, Brooks Elementary School, White Rock Village in El Dorado Hills, and the California conservation Corps in Meyers.
The Program offers two distinct modes of learning. Distance Learning Format: These courses are designed for students who cannot attend regularly scheduled classes. Students meet with an instructor to check out workbooks or DVDs at their appropriate learning level. The students then meet once a week with the instructor to review their progress and determine the ri ability to advance to the next unit.
Classroom Format: This is a more traditional school setting. Most classes include students that are working at various learning abilities, therefore, instructors often individualize lessons or group students to assist them in meeting their personal learning goals.
Inmate Program Any adult in the El Dorado County Jail, South Lake Tahoe who does not have a college degree may sign up to take high school diploma, GED, or basic reading, writing, or enrichment classes.
El Dorado Adult School Additional adult school courses, test preparation, and testing services are offered through the El Dorado Union High School District. Please contact Jan McKenzie or Jamie Jones at (530) 622-7090 Ext 111 or 125.
